In a recent study by iSeeCars, it was revealed that conventional hybrids are now the most frequently driven vehicles on U.S. roads, surpassing gasoline and electric options. The analysis, which included over 2.1 million three-year-old used cars sold in 2025, found that on average, hybrids accumulate 14,696 miles annually, significantly more than other drivetrain types.
Leading the charge in hybrid popularity is the Toyota Sienna, averaging 17,368 miles per year, which is 18.2% higher than the average hybrid mileage. Following closely is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid at 16,795 miles, and the Toyota Camry Hybrid with 16,605 miles. Other notable mentions include the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and the iconic Toyota Prius, ranking fifth and tenth respectively.
Despite previous criticisms regarding its slower transition to battery-electric vehicles, Toyota has maintained its status as the world's best-selling automaker for six consecutive years, concluding its best sales year in 2025. The company’s long-standing commitment to hybrid technology has evidently paid off, as it continues to dominate the hybrid market.
