A new startup named Perceptic has emerged, founded by three former executives from Palantir's Life Sciences division, with a focus on creating an AI platform designed for comprehensive drug development. Announcing its launch today, Perceptic successfully closed a $12 million seed funding round, led by London-based venture capital firm Accel, along with participation from Air Street Capital and Elder Gull.
Perceptic claims its software is already in use by several prominent pharmaceutical firms, specifically naming CSL, an Australian biotechnology company. The startup aims to function as a unifying framework that integrates various AI tools and the proprietary data used by pharmaceutical companies, addressing the industry's fragmented approach to drug discovery.
Tilman Flock, cofounder and CEO of Perceptic, highlighted that while many AI initiatives have focused on singular aspects of drug development, his company intends to connect these tools into a cohesive system. The platform is described as "infrastructure and model agnostic," allowing clients to incorporate their own data and AI models seamlessly.
