inMusic is set to acquire Native Instruments, marking a significant shift in the music technology industry. This deal consolidates Native Instruments under the same parent company as Akai, a long-time competitor in hardware and software. The acquisition concludes a period of uncertainty for Native Instruments, which was navigating a bankruptcy situation.
With this purchase, inMusic expands its portfolio, which already includes notable brands like Moog, M-Audio, and Denon. Native Instruments is known for popular software such as Reaktor and Massive, and the transition is anticipated to enhance the availability of its products on Akai devices, including the MPC XL.
Native Instruments CEO Nick Williams assured users that operations will continue smoothly as the incorporation progresses. The recent release of Komplete 26, featuring over 190 instruments and 180,000 presets, underscores the company's ongoing commitment to its ecosystem, even amidst this transition.
