Everand has launched a new subscription service that combines its catalog of over 1.5 million audiobooks and e-books with the social book club app Fable, aiming to compete with Amazon's digital reading dominance. This initiative comes as the company seeks to engage a combined audience of 5 million readers, allowing them to access a vast library and participate in nearly 200,000 online book clubs through Fable.
The subscription offers tiered pricing, starting at $11.99 per month for one book, $16.99 for three, and $28.99 for five books. This model presents a competitive alternative to Audible Premium Plus, which provides one credit for an audiobook at $14.95 monthly, alongside its catalog of originals and podcasts. Everand's strategy includes leveraging Fable's extensive user engagement, evidenced by last year's addition of 820,000 new book clubs.
Included in the subscription is Fable Plus, which enhances the reading experience with advanced statistics, personalized goals, and an ad-free interface. Everand's move reflects a broader trend as companies like Spotify also explore the audiobook market, seeking innovative ways to attract users across different formats.
