Cisco Systems is reportedly engaged in advanced discussions to acquire Axonius, a New York City-based cybersecurity startup, for approximately $2 billion. The potential acquisition comes as Axonius, which specializes in managing and securing connected devices through its cloud-based platform, has recently been valued at $2.6 billion following its latest funding round in 2024.
Axonius has publicly denied the acquisition talks, asserting its commitment to remaining an independent company focused on growth and customer service. Founded in 2017 by former Israel Defense Forces members, Axonius has raised around $856 million from investors including Accel and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
If finalized, this deal would be Cisco's third security acquisition in just five months, following its purchases of Aura Asset Intelligence in August and NeuralFabric Corp in November. Cisco has not commented on the ongoing negotiations as of yet.
