Following a recent security incident, Braintrust has advised its customers to revoke and replace their API keys. The startup acknowledged unauthorized access to one of its Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud accounts, which contained sensitive API keys used for accessing AI models. An email sent on Monday detailed the breach, stating that the company had not found evidence of broader exposure beyond one impacted customer.
In a statement, Braintrust confirmed that the incident is under investigation and has been contained. They locked down the compromised account and restricted access across related systems. The security breach was disclosed on the company's website on Tuesday. Martin Bergman, a spokesperson for Braintrust, emphasized that the precautions were made out of caution, noting the lack of evidence for a wider breach.
Founded by Ankur Goyal, Braintrust is valued at $800 million following an $80 million Series B funding round in February. The company offers a platform for monitoring AI products and models, highlighting the importance of security in the AI sector.
