Artisan AI, a San Francisco-based startup, is set to be reinstated on LinkedIn after a brief ban related to policy violations. The company’s CEO, Jaspar Carmichael-Jack, confirmed that the ban resulted from concerns over the use of LinkedIn’s name on their website and allegations of unauthorized data scraping, which violates LinkedIn’s terms of service.
Despite the controversy, Carmichael-Jack noted a surprising uptick in lead flow during the ban, which he attributed to the increased attention from social media posts discussing the situation. Artisan AI, known for its outbound sales AI agent called Ava, had gained popularity through provocative marketing strategies, including billboards proclaiming “Stop hiring humans.”
Initially, LinkedIn users began to notice the absence of Artisan's profiles about a week prior to the ban's public attention, which intensified as the news circulated. After working closely with LinkedIn over the past two weeks, the company is now on track for reinstatement, bringing an end to the unexpected disruption just before the holidays.
