Alibaba Cloud will implement price increases for numerous services, with adjustments reaching up to 34 percent due to heightened global demand for artificial intelligence and surging supply chain expenses. The announcement, made on Wednesday, highlighted a sharp rise in procurement costs for essential hardware within the industry.
Many services will see a price hike of five percent, while high-end instances that utilize graphics processing units (GPUs) will face increases between 25 and 34 percent. Additionally, costs for using accelerators in the Chinese cloud will rise between five to 30 percent, specifically affecting Alibaba’s Pingtouge Zhenwu 810E.
Customers who secure relevant services before April 18, 2026, will not experience immediate changes in their billing cycles, as the new rates will only take effect at the next renewal. This policy offers temporary relief for users, who can subscribe in various terms, including one or two years.
Alibaba’s decision aligns with industry trends, as AWS also raised prices on certain machine-learning resources earlier this year, reflecting broader market pressures influencing major cloud service providers.
