The BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) sector is experiencing significant challenges as AI technologies reshape customer service operations. A notable player in this space, 14.ai, has secured $3 million in seed funding, primarily from Y Combinator, along with support from General Catalyst, Base Case Capital, and several prominent tech founders.
Founded by Marie Schneegans and Michael Fester, who have a decade-long partnership, 14.ai aims to redefine customer support by functioning as an AI-native agency rather than a conventional SaaS provider. The startup has already demonstrated its ability to swiftly integrate with existing support systems, claiming to resolve ticket backlogs within a day.
In a recent collaboration with a men’s health supplement brand, the company efficiently cleared a substantial number of customer inquiries across multiple platforms, including email and social media, just hours after taking over operations. Currently, 14.ai employs six team members who provide continuous support for their clients.
