The visual redesign of the Settings page in Chrome for Android introduces a more organized layout featuring cards that separate each line. This update, part of the transition to Material 3 Expressive, enhances the user experience by improving glanceability through increased spacing between sections. Lighter containers contrast with the page background, utilizing a brighter Dynamic Color shade.
Rolling out with Chrome 146, these changes align the browser's design more closely with Android's Settings app. While the appearance of menus has been updated, there have been no modifications to the on/off toggles, which remain smaller than other Android switches. Users who have not yet received the update can force stop Chrome through the App info menu to prompt the changes.
This redesign follows previous enhancements made to the address bar, the three-dot overflow menu, and the Tab Grid, further modernizing the browser interface. Additionally, the bookmarks bar is now available for Chrome on Android tablets and foldables, reflecting Google's commitment to continual improvement.
