The latest update for Gemini Live on Android introduces a wider range of first- and third-party “Connected Apps,” enhancing user interaction capabilities. Users can now switch from quick typing to extended conversations seamlessly. The updated interface integrates Gemini Live directly into text chats with a new floating design.
Previously limited to Google services like Calendar and Maps, the application now also supports additional first-party tools such as Home, Hotels, and YouTube, along with third-party apps including Spotify. Among the new features, the Utilities category enables access to timers and alarms.
Although Gemini Live is approaching feature parity with the Gemini app, it does not yet support sending Messages, a feature anticipated in the upcoming Made by Google 2024 event. Further enhancements are expected this summer for the Gemini app on Mac, including voice control and new editing tools.
