Vapi has successfully transitioned Amazon Ring to its AI-driven platform, managing all inbound customer calls. This strategic move has contributed to Vapi's recent $50 million Series B funding round, elevating its valuation to approximately $500 million. Ring's decision to partner with the startup came in mid-Q4 2022, amid a surge in customer support inquiries during the holiday season.
According to Vapi's CEO, Jordan Dearsley, the company's technology provides Ring with the flexibility to fine-tune AI agent interactions, enhancing customer experience. Jason Mitura, Ring's VP of Software Development, noted an improvement in customer satisfaction following Vapi's implementation.
Founded in 2023 by Dearsley and his classmate Nikhil Gupta, Vapi initially began as an AI therapist project before pivoting to focus on voice infrastructure for enterprise needs. The platform, which launched publicly in 2024, has since managed over 1 billion calls, with daily processing figures ranging from 1 million to 5 million calls, predominantly from enterprise clients like Kavak and Intuit.
