Tipsy Unicorn Beach Club in Sentosa has ceased operations following a winding-up order for its operator, Tipsy Bird, issued by the Singapore High Court on January 23. The closure comes as United Overseas Bank seeks to recover over S$96,000 in outstanding debts. As of February 16, the firm’s directors have not provided the necessary financial details to liquidators, leaving the full extent of the company’s liabilities unclear.
Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC), the landlord, confirmed that the beach club stopped operations on January 30 and is now exploring new leasing opportunities. A spokesperson indicated ongoing efforts to enhance the beach scene with new concepts as part of their destination rejuvenation plans.
As of February 20, guests are unable to make reservations through the Tipsy Unicorn website, and its social media accounts reflect a temporary closure. Tipsy Unicorn, which opened on September 1, 2020, had been operational for nearly three years.
