With more than 1,400 classes available, Spotify is integrating fitness into its app by providing "guided workout experiences" and on-demand Peloton sessions. Access to these classes is available to Premium subscribers, while both Free and Premium users can explore curated fitness playlists.
The venture into fitness aligns with Spotify's findings that nearly 70 percent of its Premium users engage in workouts monthly, indicating a strong demand for fitness content. Classes will primarily be offered in English, with some available in Spanish and German.
Users can seamlessly transition between devices, starting a workout on a television and switching to an audio version on smartphones or smart speakers. Additionally, classes can be downloaded for offline access, enhancing the user experience.
This move is part of Spotify's broader strategy to diversify its offerings, which now include features such as purchasing physical books and creating group chats.
