Sierra, a startup focused on customer service founded by Bret Taylor, has expanded its portfolio by acquiring the French company Fragment, which specializes in AI workflow integration. This acquisition marks Sierra's third, following its purchases of Opera Tech and Receptive AI, both announced in March 2023.
The co-founders of Fragment, Olivier Moindrot and Guillaume Genthial, will join Sierra, enhancing its capabilities in agent development, particularly in France. Although the financial specifics of the acquisition were not disclosed, PitchBook estimates that Fragment had raised approximately $2 million in its seed funding.
Sierra, co-founded by Taylor and Clay Bavor, a former Google employee, has attracted over $630 million in investments from notable backers like Sequoia and Benchmark, leading to a valuation of $10 billion. The company serves clients including Casper, Clear, and Brex, and Taylor also holds the position of chairman at OpenAI.
