In a significant move to streamline government contracting, Pursuit has raised $22 million in its Series A funding round, bringing total investment to $25.5 million. The funding was led by Mike Rosengarten, co-founder of OpenGov, with participation from notable investors including Jack Altman, Bill Gurley, and Sam Hinkie.
Founded by Mike Vichich and engineer Brandon Max, Pursuit aims to simplify the process for companies seeking government contracts. By leveraging AI, the platform analyzes public data from approximately 11,000 state and local entities, including budgets and requests for proposals. This approach is designed to connect businesses with potential government buyers based on specific needs and budget signals.
Vichich, whose background includes selling a consumer company to Olo for $200 million, emphasizes the need for transparency in government contract opportunities. He expressed a desire for his children to grow up in a country where government efficiency is realized, which he believes Pursuit can help foster.
