In a significant move, Nvidia invested $100 million in OpenAI during a $6.6 billion funding round in October 2024, valuing the AI firm at $157 billion. Although Nvidia did not join OpenAI's $40 billion funding round in March, the company announced plans to invest up to $100 billion in a strategic partnership for AI infrastructure, though it later indicated that such investments may not be guaranteed.
Nvidia also made a substantial commitment to Anthropic in November 2025, pledging up to $10 billion as part of a strategic funding round that included a $5 billion investment from Microsoft. The company's corporate investing aims to foster the AI ecosystem by supporting startups deemed transformative in the market.
