The Epilepsy Foundation of America (EFA) has selected Lampsy Health as the winner of the 2025 Epilepsy Foundation Startup Accelerator Course, which aims to foster innovation for individuals with epilepsy. This six-week virtual program highlighted advancements in seizure detection and management technologies.
Lampsy Health's innovative product is an AI-driven smart lamp that monitors for seizures at home, aiming to lower the risk of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) during the night when supervision might be lacking. Other finalists included Pneumowave, which focuses on respiratory monitoring, BRILL Neurotech, developing a brain-imaging headset, and mjn-neuro, known for its AI-based earpiece that predicts seizure risks.
According to Dr. Caitlin Grzeskowiak, Chief Research and Innovation Officer at EFA, each participating company left with a more defined impact strategy. The Accelerator program provided essential support through expert engagement, coaching, and mentorship, setting a foundation for these startups to transition from concepts to practical applications.
