Expedia Group has appointed Derek Andersen as its new chief financial officer, effective May 11, succeeding Scott Schenkel who held the position for over two years. Andersen, formerly the CFO at Snap, brings extensive experience from his previous role at Amazon overseeing finance for video services.
In a statement, he expressed excitement about returning to Seattle and joining a company with strong assets and a significant presence in the travel industry. Ariane Gorin, CEO of Expedia, highlighted Andersen's qualifications for the CFO role while acknowledging Schenkel's contributions during his tenure.
Meanwhile, Peter Hamilton, who led ad innovation at Roku for over four years, has departed the streaming platform. He is expected to transition back into a CEO position but has not disclosed the company he will join next.
Additionally, Ann Johnson is set to leave Microsoft after more than ten years to become executive VP of Security Services at Mastercard on May 4. Johnson emphasized her commitment to cybersecurity and the importance of securing financial transactions in her new role.
