Julius Bruch, cofounder and CEO of Isaac Health, transitioned from a career in consulting to launching a healthtech startup focused on dementia care. With a Ph.D. in the field and a background at McKinsey, where he spent over seven years, Bruch honed his understanding of healthcare systems, which he now applies to his innovative venture.
His experience at McKinsey involved collaboration with payers, health systems, and state governments on various healthcare initiatives, including value-based care and chronic condition management. Bruch left the consulting world in 2021, driven by a desire to implement his knowledge in a practical setting and create impactful solutions.
Bruch emphasizes that the analytical skills he developed during his consulting career have been beneficial in his role as a startup founder. He notes that while consulting equipped him with problem-solving techniques, he had to adapt to the fast-paced nature of startup life, learning to prioritize pragmatism over perfection.
Despite the challenges of leaving a structured corporate environment, Bruch has found enjoyment in the freedom and creativity that come with building his own business.
