Apple TV has officially greenlit a new thriller series featuring Dakota Fanning as both star and executive producer. The project, which remains untitled, is developed by Alex Cary and produced by Sony Pictures Television. Fanning portrays an undercover Treasury agent entangled in a vast, corrupt international organization, grappling with her feelings for a key target.
The series was born from a competitive bidding situation last year, leading to the establishment of a writers room. Cary will fulfill the role of showrunner under his deal with Sony Pictures TV, while Julie Gardner and other producers, including Fanning, are also attached to the project.
Fanning's recent work includes a lead role in the Peacock series All Her Fault and upcoming Netflix projects Ripley and The Perfect Couple. Cary, recognized for his contributions to Homeland, has a history of producing acclaimed content, including the limited series A Spy Among Friends.
