Crunchyroll has announced a price increase for its streaming subscription plans in the US, effective immediately for new subscribers and rolling out for existing customers in March. The adjustments come shortly after the termination of its free tier and are set against a backdrop of similar hikes in the streaming industry.
Beginning Monday, the monthly cost for various plans will rise by $2. The Fan subscription will now be priced at $10, while the Mega Fan tier increases to $14, and the Ultimate Fan plan will reach $18 per month. Existing users will see these new rates reflected in their next bill after March 4. Additionally, the bundle options that include the Crunchyroll Manga app will also experience increases, with the Fan plus Manga subscription going up to $14 and the Mega Fan plus Manga to $17.50.
To ease the transition, Crunchyroll is offering a limited-time discount for users who upgrade to an annual plan, such as the yearly Fan plan at $67 or the Fan plus Manga subscription for $115 per year. This marks the first price increase for the Fan plan since 2019, following previous adjustments made in May 2024.
