Amazon's senior leadership team, known as the S-team, has expanded with the addition of Prasad Kalyanaraman as its new member, announced internally on Wednesday. Kalyanaraman has over two decades of experience at Amazon, primarily overseeing AWS infrastructure, which includes critical elements like data centers and supply chain operations.
The promotion of Dave Brown to senior vice president was also confirmed. Brown, who has been part of the S-team since 2023, heads AWS's compute services and AI offerings, such as Bedrock and SageMaker. CEO Andy Jassy highlighted both leaders' exceptional abilities to meet customer needs and drive innovation in his memo.
With Kalyanaraman's appointment, the S-team now comprises 28 members, a decrease from over 30 following recent leadership changes, including the departure of notable figures like Adam Selipsky and Dave Limp. The company continues to adapt its leadership structure as it navigates the evolving tech landscape.
