IPIC Theaters has announced the permanent closure of its location in Redmond, Washington, set for April 28, following a WARN notice submitted to state regulators. The company cited “business circumstances” as the reason for the shutdown, which was communicated to officials on February 23.
Recently, IPIC filed for bankruptcy and is also closing its theater in Atlanta. The upscale chain operates 13 dine-in theaters nationwide, offering luxury experiences with recliner seating and comprehensive food and drink service. The Redmond theater, part of the Redmond Town Center, opened in 2011.
The ongoing challenges faced by movie theaters, exacerbated by competition from streaming services, have led to a decline in North American box office revenues, which fell short of projections in 2025, remaining below pre-pandemic levels.
