Microsoft's recent updates to Windows 11 will provide users with significantly more control over how and when updates occur. The newly introduced feature allows users to pause updates indefinitely, extending the previous limit of 35 days as desired. This change comes after feedback highlighted the disruptive nature of automatic updates during important tasks.
Users can now choose to halt updates for as long as they prefer, though it is recommended to eventually install them due to their importance, particularly for security upgrades. Additionally, Windows 11 will allow users to restart or shut down their devices without being forced to install updates at that moment.
These enhancements are part of a broader effort to improve user satisfaction, stemming from input regarding the need for greater flexibility. Currently, the new features are being rolled out to participants in the Windows Insider program, specifically those in the Dev and Experimental Channels.
