Meta is advancing its Liquid Glass redesign for WhatsApp on iOS, with recent TestFlight builds indicating updates to message reactions and context menus. The rollout remains limited, as most users are still experiencing the previous interface.
Since the initial small-scale test of the Liquid Glass aesthetic last year, which affected the app's bottom navigation bar and Chats tab, further refinements have emerged. The latest TestFlight versions show that enhancements are being made to the in-chat interface, particularly for the message reaction tray and context menu.
Currently, the reaction tray exhibits a more solid appearance, while the context menu for messages still utilizes a simpler background, leading to a visual inconsistency with other elements that have already adopted the new design. Although these features are not yet available to beta testers, WABetaInfo managed to activate them ahead of the official release, indicating ongoing development.
While the timeline for a full rollout remains uncertain, the frequent sightings of Liquid Glass references in beta builds suggest that Meta is making significant progress toward implementing these updates in the App Store version.
