The latest beta version of Android, specifically Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1, introduces a new feature for Google Pixel smartphones, allowing users to customize the three-button navigation layout. This update is currently available to all devices powered by Tensor chips.
Unlike the traditional layout of “Back,” “Home,” and “Recents” from left to right, which is standard in stock Android, Samsung Galaxy devices display the buttons in a different order: “Recents,” “Home,” and “Back.” Google’s addition of this feature recognizes the preference of users who have adapted to Samsung's layout over the years.
To access this new setting, users can navigate to Settings > System > Navigation mode > 3-button navigation > Settings. While the reasoning behind this update remains unclear, it has been well-received by those familiar with Samsung's interface.
