OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT functionality to Microsoft PowerPoint, allowing users to create and modify presentation slides using AI. This capability is now accessible to many, including those on free plans and corporate subscribers of ChatGPT Business, and is currently in beta testing.
Users can generate slides and edit existing content by utilizing natural language prompts or integrating information from services such as Gmail, Outlook, and SharePoint. This development comes after a similar feature was provided by competitor Anthropic’s Claude chatbot since September.
OpenAI’s move to enhance PowerPoint aligns with its broader strategy to compete effectively in the AI market, especially as the company prepares for a potential initial public offering. ChatGPT is already available in various enterprise applications, including Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, marking its expansion into presentation software.
