Apple is reportedly launching a new Siri app with the upcoming release of iOS 27, aiming to enhance its competitiveness against popular third-party chatbot applications. This app is expected to feature a conversational interface similar to ChatGPT, allowing users to engage in dialogue with Siri.
The redesigned app will resemble Apple’s Messages platform, incorporating chat bubbles and a text entry field. Users can toggle between voice and text interactions, upload files and photos for Siri to analyze, and view their conversation history in various layouts. Additionally, the app will support cross-platform functionality across iPadOS 27 and macOS 27, with iCloud facilitating conversation syncing.
Enhanced capabilities will include personal context awareness for better interaction with apps like Messages and Calendar, along with suggested prompts to initiate conversations. Siri will also allow users to save chat data directly to Apple Notes. This upgrade is part of a broader AI enhancement strategy for Apple’s virtual assistant.
