Apple has unveiled the new iOS 27 during its recent WWDC event, featuring a standalone Siri app for the first time. This development allows users to access a chat-style interface that tracks previous conversations and enables easy interaction with the voice assistant.
The app will be integrated across various platforms, including macOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27, and will sync with iCloud for continuity across devices. Users can upload files and photos for analysis, enhancing Siri's capabilities.
However, the Siri app will only be available on devices supporting Apple Intelligence, specifically starting from the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. With this update, Siri will utilize personal context and broad knowledge to provide tailored responses, including referencing messages and photos.
Apple's ongoing commitment to improving user experience is evident, as the last iOS update, iOS 26, introduced the Preview and Games apps. As the latest features roll out, users await the full capabilities of iOS 27 later this year.
