Starting March 12, 2026, select users will experience a new feature in Google Calendar designed to simplify the scheduling of events across different time zones. This update allows users to search for or input their location directly, eliminating the need to scroll through an extensive list of time zones, which can be cumbersome for frequent travelers.
Previously, Google Calendar automatically recognized users' locations to adjust event times accordingly, but manually setting the time zone involved tedious scrolling. The recent enhancement aims to streamline this process significantly. Users in Rapid Release domains will notice the change first, while those in Scheduled Release domains can expect it starting April 5, 2026. The complete rollout for both user groups is anticipated to conclude within a few days following the initial updates.
This improvement is expected to greatly benefit individuals who frequently navigate multiple time zones, making event scheduling more efficient and user-friendly.
