During I/O 2026, Google showcased a more integrated chat feature enabling seamless transitions between voice and text. Users can expect tailored responses as Gemini Live utilizes memories from previous chats, with the capability to remember preferences such as dietary restrictions and important dates. Currently, this feature is available to English-speaking users in the United States.
Despite these advancements, the Android Personal Intelligence settings indicate that full Memory functionality is still “coming soon” to Live. The update aims to align Gemini Live's capabilities with the main chat experience, providing users with a more personalized interaction.
