While the inclusion of a free VPN is a notable advancement, experts caution that not all free VPN services are trustworthy. Jacob Kalvo, CEO of Live Proxies, emphasizes that the VPN offered by Firefox only safeguards web traffic, leaving other applications and system processes unprotected. This limitation could lead to misconceptions about the level of security provided.
The new feature comes with a 50GB data limit, which Kalvo describes as generous for casual browsing. However, he advises against relying on it for handling sensitive information or serious operations, labeling it as a limited-use product rather than a comprehensive privacy solution.
