Apple is set to unveil iOS 27 on June 8, which is expected to introduce enhancements to its Liquid Glass design. Currently, iOS 26 allows users to choose between two styles of Liquid Glass—Clear and Tinted—accessible through Settings. The existing options provide a stark contrast in opacity, with Clear offering transparency and Tinted resembling earlier designs.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new update may include a systemwide slider, enabling users to adjust the level of transparency and contrast more precisely. Although Apple successfully implemented some slider functionalities on the lock screen, challenges in extending it to the entire operating system were encountered during iOS 26's development.
While minor tweaks to the interface are anticipated, Gurman emphasizes that these changes will not be as extensive as last year's overhaul. The proposed slider could significantly enhance user customization, changing the way Liquid Glass is experienced across devices.
