Shortcuts Playground, a new plugin for Claude Code and Codex, has been launched today, allowing users to create shortcuts for Apple’s Shortcuts app using natural language. This innovative tool simplifies the shortcut creation process, enabling users to generate shortcuts with just a sentence prompt. The plugin is available for free and open source, with complete documentation accessible on its GitHub repository.
For members of Club MacStories+ and Premier, a generative shortcut version is also being offered, which allows for the creation of additional shortcuts directly on various devices. The installation process for the plugin can be easily completed with the help of a desktop agent directed to the repository.
In conjunction with this release, the MacStories Shortcuts Archive has been redesigned, featuring enhanced browsing capabilities and a collection of 100 shortcuts generated by Shortcuts Playground, all verified by the developer. This archive aims to showcase the plugin's functionality and provide users with practical examples of its potential.
