During Fox Sports' live coverage of the FIFA World Cup in Seattle, a cardboard sign prominently displaying Yoodli.ai gained unexpected exposure. This guerrilla marketing tactic was executed by the startup, which specializes in AI-driven conversation practice software, as a creative way to gain visibility during a globally significant event.
The idea stemmed from Connor Wright, Yoodli's new growth marketing manager, who noticed the live stream on social media. In a spontaneous move, communications leader Sage Ke’alohilani Quiamno crafted the sign from a repurposed monitor box, demonstrating the startup's resourcefulness. With the help of marketing intern Luis Quiroz, they rushed to Fox’s broadcast location at Pier 62 to ensure the sign was visible during the live telecast.
Yoodli, founded in 2021 as part of the AI2 Incubator, has been actively engaging with the World Cup atmosphere at nearby AI House. As excitement builds for the upcoming match between the U.S. and Australia at Lumen Field, the company's innovative approach to marketing has captured the attention of viewers and highlighted the vibrant energy surrounding soccer in Seattle.
