Devplan has announced the completion of a $2.5 million seed funding round aimed at automating coordination for product and engineering teams. The Seattle-based startup, founded by industry veterans Chris Bee and Anton Safonov, is also making its software more widely available after initial testing with select customers.
Founded in 2025, the company has developed a tool called Weaver, which integrates with platforms such as GitHub, Jira, and Slack. This tool enables users to query project statuses and responsibilities through a chat interface or Slack bot, streamlining communication and reducing the need for status reports and meetings.
Bee highlighted the efficiency of Weaver, noting that it processes queries around twice as fast and significantly cheaper than traditional methods. The company aims to minimize what Bee refers to as the "invisible tax" on engineering teams, allowing them to focus more on product development rather than administrative tasks.
The funding round was led by AI2 Incubator and included contributions from Acequia Capital, Mighty Capital, and Grand Ventures, indicating strong investor interest in the startup's innovative approach to enhancing productivity in tech environments.
