The abrupt closure of the Singaporean pet telehealth startup ZumVet has left many pet owners without support, with reports of users being charged for subscriptions even after services became unavailable. Customers noted that both the app and website ceased functioning without any prior warning, leading to difficulties in booking consultations and accessing customer support.
On December 17, a search revealed that ZumVet was marked as “permanently closed” following a visit to their clinic location at Block 416 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, where a "For rent" sign was displayed. Affected users, such as Ron Lin, reported unauthorized charges after being unable to cancel subscriptions due to the platform's inaccessibility.
The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) has received a consumer complaint regarding ZumVet’s closure, indicating issues with unfulfilled orders. CASE President Melvin Yong mentioned that the association has advised the affected consumer on potential recourse options. As of now, ZumVet has not publicly addressed the shutdown or provided information on how customers can reclaim prepaid fees or outstanding charges.
