Apple is set to unveil a new standalone Siri app during WWDC 2026, enhancing user interaction with the voice assistant. The app, which will debut in beta, is designed to incorporate privacy features similar to those found in iMessage, including the option for auto-deleting conversation history after specified durations.
According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the redesigned Siri will allow users to engage in voice conversations, start new chats, and upload files. Notably, it will utilize Gemini-based technology while ensuring that user data remains secure on Apple’s private cloud servers, preventing Google from using conversations for model training.
The new interface will provide two options: a conversation view reminiscent of ChatGPT or a traditional Messages-style conversation list. Although the launch was initially delayed, expectations are high for the app's capabilities as it approaches its release alongside iOS 27 this fall.
Despite its beta status, the app aims to deliver a refined experience, building on previous launches that also carried a beta label. As WWDC approaches, anticipation grows for these advancements in Apple’s AI technology.
