A new initiative between the University of Huddersfield and local firm Woodcock & Wilson aims to enhance customer support and staff training using advanced AI technology. The project is part of a 27-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) that merges academic and industry expertise.
Dr Emmanuel Papadakis and Dr George Bargiannis from the University’s Centre for Autonomous and Intelligent Systems (CAIS) are leading the effort, which includes Rohan Jadhav as the KTP associate responsible for knowledge transfer. Upon project completion, Jadhav is expected to continue his career with Woodcock & Wilson.
Woodcock & Wilson, known for its industrial fans, seeks to implement a system that will provide 24/7 global support and enhance the training of its employees. The AI-powered framework will utilize multimodal and agentic AI, integrating knowledge graphs with generative and conversational AI to improve operational efficiency.
The collaboration will focus on advanced knowledge management and data-driven insights, aiming to revolutionize customer support by incorporating new capabilities into the existing processes of Woodcock & Wilson. Dr Papadakis highlighted the innovative nature of this project, while Dr Bargiannis emphasized the challenge of processing diverse data types.
