Bumble is enhancing its platform with the introduction of two new artificial intelligence features: AI-suggested Profile Guidance and AI Photo Feedback. While Profile Guidance is being rolled out globally, the Photo Feedback tool is currently limited to users in the United States, assisting them in selecting optimal profile images.
These innovations reflect a growing trend in the online dating sector, where other apps like Hinge and Tinder have previously adopted similar AI functionalities. Bumble has a history of integrating AI for user safety, having implemented tools to identify scams and fake profiles. The company is also testing a new Suggest a Date feature in Canada, aimed at easing the transition from online chat to in-person meetings.
Vivek Sagi, Bumble's Chief Product and Technology Officer, highlighted the importance of these features in helping users present themselves authentically and confidently. This announcement comes amid challenges for Bumble, including a class-action lawsuit related to a data breach from January and the recent discontinuation of its Opening Moves feature in Mexico and Australia.
