Apple is revising its approach to the development of an AI-driven health coach, originally known as Mulberry. Instead of a comprehensive launch, the initiative will be segmented into individual features that will be rolled out gradually. This shift follows the company’s previous strategy of introducing health-related tools, such as sleep apnea and hearing tests for the Apple Watch and Apple AirPods.
Leadership changes are influencing this project, with veteran executive Eddy Cue now supervising the health technology initiatives. The company faces increasing competition from firms like Oura and Peloton, as well as tech leaders such as Google and OpenAI, which has recently unveiled its ChatGPT Health service.
Furthermore, Apple had plans for a redesigned health services app that would feature virtual wellness instructions and better integration with its devices. Some of this content may still be released, albeit not as a unified offering.
