Memories.ai has introduced Project LUCI, a platform aimed at developers rather than consumers, reflecting a shift in strategy for the AI wearables market. The initiative was revealed earlier this month in anticipation of CES 2026, with the ambition to establish itself as the foundational framework for other companies to create smart wearable devices.
Project LUCI, which stands for Long Understanding Contextual Intelligence, aims to allow users to revisit past conversations and decisions through a companion app that transforms events into searchable memories. Co-founder and CEO Shawn Shen highlighted that previous AI wearables failed due to inadequate memory and contextual awareness, a gap that Memories.ai intends to fill with its advanced LVMM 2.0 model.
In collaboration with companies like Qualcomm, Rokid, Sharge, and RayNeo, Memories.ai plans to enhance security measures while developing this platform. Shen compared Project LUCI to Google's Nexus line, emphasizing its developer-first approach to foster innovation in AI-driven wearables.
