Over 100 students recently showcased their entrepreneurial skills at the TYE Seattle Chapter Finals held at Bellevue College. A team that developed an AI-powered email assistant secured the top prize, earning a chance to compete globally next month.
The event, organized by TiE Young Entrepreneurs, featured participants from 20 different teams tackling various issues such as mental health, children’s nutrition, ocean plastic recycling, and healthcare. The TYE program, which has been active for over 20 years, now operates in more than 40 cities worldwide and has seen its Seattle chapter claim global first prize honors for the last two years.
Prior to the competition, a panel discussion took place, featuring industry experts from Amazon, Microsoft, and OpenAI. Moderated by Aravind Bala of SeekOut, the panel focused on career navigation in the era of artificial intelligence. Swami Sivasubramanian, Vijaye Raji, and Aseem Datar provided insights, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurial skills and a proactive mindset for students venturing into technology.
