StitcherAI has officially launched, introducing a novel solution to assist businesses in managing their AI and cloud expenditures. The Seattle-based startup secured $3 million in pre-seed funding, with the investment round led by Founders Co-op and supported by Sunshine Lake VC, Ascend, and Plug & Play Ventures.
Co-founders Udam Dewaraja and Varun Mittal, both seasoned professionals in enterprise technology, aim to replace traditional FinOps dashboards with real-time cost data integrated directly into applications. This approach targets potential spending issues before they arise, particularly addressing situations where AI agents may overlook budget constraints or existing contracts.
Dewaraja, who previously built the global IT finance practice at Citi and co-created the FOCUS open billing standard, emphasized the necessity of providing contextual financial information at decision-making points. Meanwhile, Mittal's background as an AI researcher and his previous leadership role at NLPCore bolster the company's expertise in the field.
StitcherAI faces competition from established companies like Apptio, Flexera, and VMware's CloudHealth, as it seeks to carve a niche in the growing market for IT spending management solutions.
