Temporal, a workflow orchestration company from Bellevue valued at $5 billion, has secured a front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Crystal Palace Football Club starting in the 2026/27 season. This partnership marks a unique collaboration between a relatively young startup and a football club with a rich history of 164 years.
The sponsorship deal comes as the Premier League plans to prohibit gambling companies from front-of-shirt advertising, potentially creating over $125 million in new sponsorship opportunities across the league. Previously, Crystal Palace's front-of-shirt arrangement with Net88, an Asian betting firm, was valued at approximately £10 million, or about $13 million, annually.
Temporal aims to enhance its visibility among developers through this partnership, as co-founder and CEO Samar Abbas stated in a LinkedIn announcement. The company, founded in 2019, has notable clients such as OpenAI and Netflix, and is focused on offering tools for complex workflow management.
