The finalists for the 2026 GeekWire Awards Startup of the Year have been announced, showcasing innovative companies in the tech sector. The contenders include mpathic, ElastixAI, Dropzone AI, Dopl Technologies, and Loopr AI. Each of these startups is addressing diverse challenges, from enhancing AI safety for vulnerable users to optimizing robotic technologies.
Taking place on May 7 at the Showbox SoDo in Seattle, the 18th annual GeekWire Awards will celebrate the achievements of these companies and their leaders. Last year’s recipient of the Startup of the Year award was Auger, recognized for its innovative supply chain software.
Among the finalists, mpathic, founded in 2021 by CEO Grin Lord, focuses on creating safety measures for AI interactions, particularly for children and individuals in mental health crises. The startup has raised $15 million in 2025 and is expanding its network of licensed clinical experts rapidly. Voting for the winner is open until today, allowing community members to participate in selecting the top startup.
