Abidur Chowdhury, an industrial designer formerly with Apple, has transitioned to Hark, an AI startup founded by Brett Adcock. Hark, which recently secured $100 million in funding from Adcock’s personal resources, aims to develop “human-centric” AI technology. The startup was established only weeks ago and is reportedly focused on creating AI that can proactively think and improve over time.
Hark's initial setup includes a cluster of graphics processing units that became operational earlier this week, although details on its size remain undisclosed. The company has already attracted numerous engineers from major tech firms such as Google, Meta, and Amazon, with plans to expand its workforce to 100 within the first half of the year.
Chowdhury's specific contributions to Hark's projects are yet to be clarified. As the AI hardware market struggles to gain traction, companies like Meta have found success with their innovations, in contrast to others that have faded from prominence. Adcock will continue his role as CEO at Figure AI while overseeing Hark.
