After eight years of hard work, Wyl Ng's gym, MVRCK, is on the verge of reaching S$1 million in total revenue. Founded by Wyl in Singapore, the strength and conditioning studio has become a significant player in a competitive fitness market largely dominated by international franchises. Despite the challenges, Wyl's determination and innovative spirit have fueled the growth of his business.
At just 35 years old, Wyl reflects on his journey that began while he was still in the service industry, unsure of his next steps. His passion for fitness, which started in secondary school and developed through bodybuilding in 2008, inspired him to transition to personal training full-time in 2015. During this time, he also discovered CrossFit, which was relatively new in Singapore, and began honing his skills through online resources and trial gym passes.
Wyl's experiences in traditional gyms highlighted the need for a space that catered to the CrossFit style he envisioned. His innovative approach, combined with a strong foundation of hands-on experience, has helped him cultivate a gym environment that encourages experimentation and progress among its members.
