The Food and Drug Administration announced a voluntary recall on February 25 of Lockout Supplements' product, “Boner Bears Chocolate Syrup.” This product, marketed for sexual enhancement, was found to contain undeclared levels of sildenafil, which is commonly known as Viagra. Such undisclosed ingredients pose significant risks, particularly when they interact with other medications.
Sold on the company’s website and linked to additional products like “Boner Bears Chocolate Bars,” which were identified in earlier FDA tests, the syrup was available for purchase between January 2025 and February 2026. Lockout Supplements has committed to providing a full refund to customers who return the syrup, as part of their response to the recall.
The FDA continuously monitors sexual enhancement supplements for hidden drugs, as the presence of substances like sildenafil and tadalafil has become prevalent in male-focused wellness products. This situation underscores the regulatory challenges faced by the FDA in ensuring the safety of dietary supplements compared to pharmaceuticals.
